There are many options for women to be spiritually uplifted and renewed in the Diocese of Green Bay. There are events, retreats, social opportunities and seminars happening regularly at parishes throughout the Diocese. Below please find information related to women's ministry that you might find helpful.
The Diocesan Council of Catholic Women
The Green Bay Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW) was founded in 1924 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral at the invitation of Bishop Paul Rhode, sixth bishop of Green Bay.
Its purpose is to support, empower, and educate all Catholic women in spirituality, leadership, and service, consistent with the teachings and tradition of the Catholic Church.
The women do service projects in the areas of church, family, international, community, legislation, and organization.
The Green Bay Diocesan Council of Catholic Women sponsors Marian Day, Retreats, and the Lick Family Violence campaign to raise funds for local shelters.
There are Councils of Catholic Women at the parish, vicariate, diocesan and national levels. The National Council of Catholic Women provides information on projects and activities that can be adapted for their parish and locality.
These include mini-retreats, awareness programs on domestic violence and human trafficking, the Respite Program where trained volunteers give family members a break from being caregivers 24/7, and Water for Life to provide clear water systems in impoverished areas.
